NpBench

Welcome to the NpBench home.

NpBench is a benchmark suite targeted to represent modern network processor applications, which has control-plane workloads

as well as data-plane workloads. NpBench has ten applications from three different groups.

A paper with NpBench and its characterization presents in 21st International Conference on Computer Design (ICCD 2003), 

San Jose, CA, October, 2003. The title is "NpBench: A Benchmark Suite for Control plane and Data plane Applications 

for Network Processors" ( PDF ). Technical report with benchmark description is also available here.  

The suite is being constantly enhanced and is available for the research community.
